FS Cosmos Watch Series

Introducing the FS Cosmos Watch Series for the Szanto ICONs line.

Frank Stephenson has worked on brands like Ferrari, Maserati, McLaren, BMW and many more. Now, he’s applying his visionary style to the watch trade.

Creating COSMOS beautifully blends this expertise in futuristic new-age mobility with a passion for design excellence.

The initial series is named after the glittering metropolis of stars, with a purposeful design, accomplished with stunning and individually unique sparkling granite dials that conjure up views of the cosmic regions of space. All three hands appear to float unattached around the dial’s centrally located black hole.

The Frank Stephenson collection, part of the Szanto ICON watch series, features styling cues reflecting the designer’s monumental work within the automotive industry and his more recent contributions to new mobility design, with his logo featuring prominently on the dial and his signature on the back of the watch case.

The FS COSMOS is crafted with a stainless-steel case and case back with a highly scratch resistant domed K1 crystal. The dial features an original stylized font for the numbers at the four corners (0, 3, 6 and 9) that are printed with thick Superluminova lume for night glow. The watch has a soft, supple and ergonomically shaped silicone rubber strap with a bespoke designed buckle. A Japanese quartz movement from Miyota powers the watch and ensures years of highly dependable wear with zero reliability issues.

Frank Stephenson COSMOS design detail

The overall shape and profile of COSMOS is inspired by the smooth flow of stellar winds.

The watch and strap side-view profile blend into a curved shape, designed to fit the arced surface of the wrist.

The strap blends precisely into the watch case, with no visible lug ends, for a harmonious connection between the two parts.

The strap’s buckle is designed to replicate the uniquely shaped ZERO digit on the dial face.

The crystal lens is noticeably domed, reflecting the curved spheres of celestial bodies.

The slightly bulbous adjustment crown is designed to blend into the casing side so as to not protrude into the back of the wearer’s hand.

The bevelled dial ring is dimpled at each hour location to resemble crater impacts on planetary surfaces.

The centre of the dial face shows a black hole in space. Under closer observation, it is matt black to accurately depict the fact that not even light can escape from it.

The hollowed-out minute and hour hands are designed to appear as if they are floating in space, unconnected to the central hub.

The second hand also appears to be unconnected, only visible by its accentuated orange tip.

Each line, although barely perceptible, of the hour and minute markers leads to a vanishing point located at the exact centre of the dial face, creating a tapering effect that generates a subconscious feeling of dynamic movement for the unique font style and graphics.

The date is located hovering above “6”, within a circular cut-out and outlined with an orange pinstripe which simulates the supernova glow of a neutron star .

The granite faced dial replicates the infinitely different views into the deep reaches of the universe, each dial face representing a unique field of vision.
